We’re Voting Yes

Growing up in Richfield I had a pool pass every summer, skated at the ice rink, and went on field trips to Woodlake Nature Center.
I will be voting yes because Richfield kids — including my new three month old son — should get the same great opportunities I had at great facilities in our own community. Adding a community center also gives kids access to opportunities I never had. Vote yes for kids!

Growing up in Richfield, I would see the Community Center every time my grandma and dad brought my sister and me to Augsburg Park. But we never went inside. In high school, I would pass the building on my way to RHS every day. It was disappointing we didn't have a community center like the cities around us — one with gyms, a track, banquet rooms — a place that could meet the needs of every generation.

As an adult, I've used the building for meetings and events. On one occasion, while 70 people were attending a local leadership summit on the main floor, the basement began to flood. I am voting YES for Richfield Parks because this is our chance to create new, beautiful spaces for all Richfielders.

We love Richfield parks and Woodlake. We have spent many happy times playing, exploring and meeting friends. We would love a community center with more to offer families. We support investing in our city, friends and neighbors. We want Richfield to continue to be a great place to live. We want to spend more time in Richfield rather thansurrounding communities! Our family is very enthusiastically voting YES for Richfield parks! We have made so many wonderful memories at Woodlake, the pool, and the community center, and we hope to continue to make many more. Our community and its awesome gathering spaces are one of the best parts about living in Richfield. We are really hoping to have access to more indoor recreation options at the community center and Woodlake as well. The Olsens
I love Richfield parks! Richfield Lake is one of my favorite places to walk my dog, bird and turtle watch, and identify plants. I also love Augsburg Park. When I decided to get married after 30 years with my partner, we chose Augsburg Park for the ceremony. We walked to the park with our officiant and four witnesses. We tied the knot alongside our friends, our senior rescue dog, Bayou, and those beautiful oak trees. Erica Klein Richfield Parks Bride
Woodlake is a place I go to learn, exercise, relax, and gather with friends. A new nature center building would further my enjoyment and others’ enjoyment of this wonderful space. Henrik Kowalkowski Richfield homeowner
We have lived in Richfield for 47 years. While raising our 3 children we used and enjoyed the many wonderful parks in Richfield. Woodlake was of course a very special place to them. Veterans Park is the flagship park of Richfield and it needs to be maintained and improved. We support the proposed sales tax that will preserve and improve the recreational assets in Richfield. Please vote yes for the proposed sales tax! Carolyn and Charles Engeldinger
I'm so lucky to live in Richfield. I walk my dogs at my neighborhood parks, and I've taken classes at the current Community Center. Every time I have family or friends visit, we go to Woodlake and they are amazed by this oasis in the middle of the city. But I know our parks and amenities will be even better and more inclusive for all Richfielders — from children to elderly — with this new investment. I’m glad to support it. Santwana Dasgupta Avid Richfield Parks User
