We had school in the Community Center ice rink for the first two and a half months (except for a week that we had to move out because of the County Fair). Being in this place that was certainly not perfect brought us together in a way that probably wouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have if we had started out in a brand new school with everything our hearts desired.<\/div>\n<p>We began our friendships here<br \/>\nand we learned to trust each other.<br \/>\nWe had fun when we were together here.<br \/>\nNow we care about each other<br \/>\nand understand each other.<br \/>\nWe all learn from each other.<br \/>\nand we can all get things done when we work together.<br \/>\nWe help each other<br \/>\nbut we do not judge each other&#8217;s work.<br \/>\nWe laugh together<br \/>\nand we struggle together.<br \/>\nWe are all there for each other.<br \/>\nWe are happy together<br \/>\nand silly together.<br \/>\nWe listen to each other<br \/>\nand we know how the other feels.<br \/>\nWe talk together<br \/>\nand care if one is hurt..<br \/>\nWe spent time together.<br \/>\nWe were all here together.<br \/>\nAnd now we&#8217;re all friends.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Writer&#8217;s note: I wrote this after our first learning block at Great Expectations School in Grand Marais.
