September 2006
Friday, Sept. 15 | The Peer Gynt Project: An International Collaboration, Galvin Fine Arts Center, St. Ambrose University. Denmark?s Jomfru Ane Teatret and the Dell’Arte Company of California team up for the 100th year anniversary of Ibsen?s death. Commedia Noir meets a Scandinavian masterpiece in a vibrantly contemporary exploration of Peer Gynt. Boiling down the epic tale to its core, a tight ensemble of six actors brings the story to life in a wildly physical style that combines mask performance traditions from around the world with a live musical landscape that spans from gospel to cabaret. The company will also be in residency to work with theater and music students from September 13-15. For further information call (563)333-6251. |
